In the spirit of the Social Media Week, SelahAfrik has compiled a list of Christians who are touching and changing lives with their Twitter handles.

Pastor Sam Adeyemi

Sam Adeyemi is the founder and currently the Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Nigeria. Daystar is one of the largest growing churches in Africa which started in 1995 with only a few people and now has over 20000 members. Daystar Church growth has seen lives transformed over the years and every gathering.

With over two decades in ministry, Sam Adeyemi is a leading voice in proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ that God wants us to lead and succeed in every area of living across the globe through his resources such as television, radio broadcast, publications, seminar and books. Sam Adeyemi has authored numerous books including the best sellers Parable of Dollar, Success Is who You Are, Second Revolution, Ideas Rule the World and more. Some of Sam Adeyemi writings have been published in newspapers and magazines.

Sam Adeyemi is happily married to Nike Adeyemi and they are blessed with three lovely children.

Pastor Poju Oyemade

‘Poju Oyemade is the Senior Pastor of Covenant Christian Centre, Lagos. He was called to ministry whilst he was still an undergraduate at the University of Lagos. He was ordained into ministry by Bishop David Oyedepo, the presiding bishop of Living Faith Ministries Worldwide (a.k.a Winner’s Chapel). Pastor ‘Poju is a teacher of the Word of faith with insight into how believers can apply biblical principles in a pragmatic and practical way in their daily lives.

This dynamic pastor hosts regular Faith Seminars, Single’s Summits, Financial and Business Seminars where believers are taught the undiluted Word and how it can be applied directly in their situations to produce results, God’s way. The Platform – Worker’s Fair and National Development Fair are also outreaches of his ministry where prominent business men and women (that are believers) share how they thrive in their industries using and applying principles founded in the Bible.

He is also the host of the regular television programme ‘Insights for Living.’ The Quantum Leap (TQL) is the latest addition to the stable of television programmes hosted by this dynamic pastor and he just rounded off work on the West African Faith Believers’ Convention 2014.

Pastor Godman Akinlabi

He used to be an associate pastor at Daystar Christian Centre headed by Pastor Sam Adeyemi but he is currently the Lead Pastor of The Elevation Church, Lagos.

Pastor Godman Akinlabi has a God given mandate to ‘make greatness common’ and he is passionate about the role of d Church in the transformation of Nigeria and Africa. He is married to Bolarinwa Akinlabi.

He is one of the speakers for the Social Media Week where he spoke about social media and the digital church.

Oby Ezekwesili

One of the strongest voice for Nigeria on Twitter with over 99, 000 followers. She tweets on the states of the nation, advice for development, Christian faith, edifying music and more.

Obiageli Ezekwesili is a Nigerian chartered accountant. She was a co-founder of Transparency International, serving as one of the pioneer Directors of the global anti-corruption body based in Berlin, Germany. She served as Federal Minister of Solid Minerals and then as Federal Minister of Education during the second term presidency of Olusegun Obasanjo and also, Vice President of the World Bank’s Africa division.

On October 1, 2012, one of the world’s leading telecommunications firm, Bharti Airtel, with operations in 20 countries, named Ezekwesili as a director on its board. She is also on the boards of World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the School of Public Policy of central European University, The Harold Hartog School of Government and Policy, New Africa Magazin, The Center for Global Leadership at Tufts University.

She recently put the Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on the hot seat for accountability through her Twitter account. Her posts went viral.

Leke Alder

In February, 2013, Leke Alder began writing weekly letters to both male and female youths on Twitter with the representation of Jack and Jil. Those letters address relationship issues and where posted via his @Leke_Alder Twitter account. Leke accrued weekly followership on twitter of between 700 – 1000 users as the social media responded enthusiastically to these letters. Leke Alder currently has over 34, 000 followers on Twitter.

Leke Alder is the founder & Principal of Alder Consulting, Nigeria’s leading branding corporation with offices in Lagos and London (www.alder-consulting.com). Mr Alder is credited with introducing branding as a discipline to Nigeria and has consulted on policy, politics and business at the highest levels at home and abroad. He has consulted on policy formulation for the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Federal Ministries of Information & Communication, Education, Foreign Affairs, Solid Minerals Development, and others. He has also consulted on political strategy and communication campaigns at national and sub-national levels.

Mr Leke Alder wrote the blueprint on Nigeria’s image management programme – the Heart of Africa project christened Nigeria Rebranding Project; and was the Chief Consultant to the Federal Government on the project.

Pastor Tuoyo Tom Edun

You would almost mistake Pator TT Edun for another another savvy social media enthusiast as he tweets on sports, politics, Christian faith and other related topics. He cheers on the Gospel artistes and has been a back bone for them in several ways.

Pastor Tuoyo is the director of LoveWorld Christian Network and chairman of LoveWorld Records. He was in Asaba before he was transferred to Ibadan where he pastors a large congregation.

Pastor TT Edun his a youth at heart and if you go by the persona behind his tweets, you may draw him into your social media inner circle before realising who you are dealing with.

Besides being an accomplished Producer, Sound Engineer, Singer and Songwriter, FLO has written, co-written, produced and worked with countless number of artists his latest effort include the collaboration with Mike Abdul on the song “In the Name of Jesus.” his song “Twaile” was listed on the world’s top 30 songs of 2013 by Gospel Innovation.

Bouqui has created a consistent fanbase with her music but that has also extended to her tweets. She paint vivid pictures of the Christian Faith all over her timeline in such a way that anyone reading can relate.

Bouqui is one of the pioneer Gospel rapper in Nigeria. From dance track to solemn songs, she glorifies God with her craft and has she puts it; she is an “uncompromising, unapologetic Christaholic.”
