According to the designer,

“It will only get better every year. I personally have a passion for Gospel and after working for 5 years with gospel giants like Joyous Celebration, Ntokozo Mbambo and Rebecca Malope, I realised the gospel industry needs a fashion awakening and style awareness.”

“Fashion Meets Gospel is about bringing fashion to gospel people and all conservative fashionistas.”

Ndwandwa prefers a more conservative approach to his designs, something which he believes sets him apart from most designers. As a stylist, He infuses African prints and luxurious textiles with the perfect measurement of a modern-western twist along with an optimum finish to the garments.

“At first it made me unpopular and I was even labelled as boring but as time went on people got to understand my brand and what I am about,” he says.

“I also got to discover my market. I can confidently say I am now popular because I stand out of the crowd of designers that all have the same approach,” he adds.

Ndwandwa plans to launch his Spring/Summer collection at the 3rd Annual Fashion Meets Gospel event on the 9th of August at the Yamaha Theatre in Kelvin.

“The fit, the finish, the African twist and of course the class and elegance that my garments exude are what makes them different. They speak to women who love quality and love being unique. Women who refuse to blend in,” Ndwandwa gloats.
