Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. – 1 Corinthians 9:26

Praying to God must be done in faith and also with  confidence that God has answered your prayer. Also, it is important to understand what kind of prayer is required for the circumstance you are praying about.

A prayer said in faith is that prayer said according to God’s will.

By God’s will, what we actually mean is by the standard of the word. Jesus said he has giving us the key of the kingdom but it is the responsibility of every child of God to know what key opens what door.

l give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” – Matthew 16:19

If you are given a bunch of keys and before you are different doors that you are required to open, if you labeled the keys according to the specific door they open you will spend less time trying to open each door. On the contrary, you may even be unable to open some of the doors if you are just guessing from the bunch. So also is prayer, God has giving us specific keys for  specific doors and the amount of the knowledge of which key to use in circumstances determines the number of victories you can come by.

So the first thing required in any giving situation that a child of God finds himself is to ask God to reveal the knowledge according to His word about that situation, when you get hold of that knowledge, you then hold on to it with the confidence that you are holding the key that opens that particular door.
