The 45th Annual GMA Dove Awards took place in Nashville, Tennessee honoring today’s top Christian artists on 7th of October, including Hillsong United, Switchfoot, Skillet and Ellie Holcomb, to name a few.
Hillsong UNITED was honored with five wins including Artist of the Year, Contemporary Christian Performance of the Year, and Song of the Year for their song “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail),” a song that topped Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart for over 50 weeks. Hillsong UNITED’s “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail)” also took home trophies for Pop/Contemporary Recorded Song of the Year and Worship Song of the Year.
Switchfoot, which is best known for songs “Dare You To Move” and “Meant to Live” among many more, earned three Dove Awards including Rock Contemporary Song for “Love Alone is Worth the Fight.” The Christian alternative rock band also earned Dove Awards for Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year for “Fading West” and the Long Form Video of the Year.
Other winners include Chris Tomlin, Tamela Mann, KB, Michael W. Smith amongst others.
