See that no one is sexually immoral, or is godless like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest son. Afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit this blessing, he was rejected. Even though he sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had done.” – Hebrews 12:16 – 17
On Monday, I spoke in part about lust being the major reason why men fail. I said every other reason can be found under this one reason and also gave the scripture that supported this fact. I want you to know that God never intended that anyone be poor. Jesus became poor for this very fact. He further stressed it when He made known his will through the apostle; He said I wish that you would prosper and be in good health.
So if God is so concerned about we prospering, why do we fail to do so. Again the answer is lust!
I spoke in general on Monday but today, I want to narrow lust down to sexual immoralities as well as greed and how it affects prosperity.
I want you to take a look at the lives of men from the bible – Esau, Joseph, Samson and David’s son, Amnon. All these men have something in common, they were either undone by their lust or made by not yielding to it. As a matter of fact, only Joseph amongst the men mentioned was able to build enough resistance so that he won.
The mind feeds on the things it sees, touch, hears and smells and these are the mind gates that lust enters through. You have to build a mind filter and only the spirit of God can help one do that. You know what Joseph’s response is when Potiphar’s wife wanted to force him to sleep with her? Joseph said; “I cannot do this and sin against God”. Right there is the spirit of God speaking through Joseph which his body only voiced out because it has been subjected to the spirit. At the the long run, Joseph, although suffered unjustly, he later became a governor in a strange land because of his resistance against lust.
On the other hand, Amnon, David’s son who raped his half sister Tamar, enjoyed the spoils of his conquest for just 2 years and in the midst of his revelry, his untimely death came as a result of his lust. So also Samson.
Esau who gave his birthright up to his younger brother lost his father’s blessings because of lust. He had it coming since he gave up the birthright or how do you explain Jacob taking his place in front of their father if not for the fact that what he said in the physical, the spiritual confirmed it and gave it to Jacob as the rightful owner.
Be careful how you chase after that contract, that material possession, that boy, that girl, that position and the likes. Even when you feel that you’ve had your way like Amnon, Samson and Esau, it can come and pull the rug from under your feet and trip you. One can end up losing an arm, a leg or worst, a life!
Success is not marked by how much money, achievement, possession or title you have at the moment but spread that over a period of years and checkout how you are doing. Some of the most renowned actors, achievers, leaders have committed suicide, some are divorcing partners on the row and we may never know the reason till eternity but I bet you a truly successful person will never want to kill himself or be away from the place of happiness. Lust is the reason why men fail and when I say men, I am talking about the human race.

in my own perspective, I’ve ascertain that the most atrocities men do engage themself into is sex. Sex had exterminate our forfather from achieving that which God has destined for them and the thing which is making our youths not to be fascinated for the things of God anymore is sex….. Sex can even blindfolded man of God he does not hold himself strong. I will say sex is a spirit of its own because it separate many people FrOm the presence of God
