DYING TO LIVE — BY ALEX AMOS

I was dying to live

I wanted more than just existing

I wanted to feel my heart beat

Jolted by rush of adrenalin

I was dying to live

I didn’t know the Way

Truth a matter of veracity

and life was like a long and lonely journey heading no where

I was dying to live

Maybe wine, Maybe revelry

reckless abandon, Maybe

And the day after, I will start all over again

I was dying to live

but how?

Seek you shall find — I sought

The ancient wisdom — My source

I was dying to live

Then I realised

The Saviour already died so I can live

I gave my life in exchange for His

Oh happy day — the day I died

Now I am dying to live

I am dying daily

I am dying to things, I am dying to sin

The more I die, the more I live

Now I am dying to live

I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live

I died — Yes, the old me

And everyday eversince

Oh this mortal me

Keep dying so I can live

This new life I’ve found in Him.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” – 2Corinthians 5:18

Anointed hands! I create when I write... Plus I know where prose and music meet...
