The Truth With Wilson Joel: Honour Your Parents – The Secret To A Prosperous Long Life

Quick and straight to my thoughts. Many people can spend so much money, love, care & affection to people who do not truly matter, or should I say we love to do so for people whose attention we are trying to get. Be it their Love, Favor or what have you.

Example would be a guy who is willing to spend all he has to get the attention of a lady whom he wishes to date or possibly spend the rest of his life with. Whilst that is amazing, you often find that this same guy won’t probably spend same amount of his time, money and resources on his own parents. It’s debatable though…

Anyways, 22 years ago I lost my father and I wasn’t even a Teenager yet. I learnt one thing all through my journey from then that your parents are the most important beings GOD placed in your life. Cherish them, nourish them, honor them and be their best friends. In some cases, some people do not have good rapport with their parents and whilst I do understand that all fingers are not equal, I would always advise people to try find ways to make up with them.

I promised my mother that whatever I do not spend for her whilst she is here, I won’t spend even quarter of that when she passes away in some stupid jubilation. She must enjoy the fruits of her labor. And hey trust me, we were not best of pals like me and my dad were when he was here but boy over the years I have come to love her silly to pieces in a very uncontrollably crazy way. She is such a gem. I spoil her like she is some lady I am trying to ask out! Guess what, not with expensive stuff all the time but with what I have and most times with ALL I have! Have you ever emptied your bank account for your parents before? Try it! There is such a huge blessing in it! (Forgive my apostrophes)… Oh and if you want to live long, that’s one secret to living long…

parents
You see my friends, these figures are not just another set of humans. They gave you your DNA or should I say you carry their DNA and it’s more spiritual than it is biological. There is a blessing attached to them that you must get, never think you can go on in life without that blessing. #BitterTruth

You can turn a new leaf today in appreciating your parents always. No matter how much they have offended you, they are your parents and you can find a way/wisdom in handling their excesses.

Love your Parents today and show it! You will thank me in another 6 months.

Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.” – Exodus 20:12
