Bible News: When We Subconsciously Reject The Blessing

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me. Seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” – Hosea 4:6

The man at the pool of Bethesda didn’t know something Blind Bartimaeus knew. He didn’t know how he could save himself. This is why when the Savior was standing in front of him and asking if he wanted to be healed, rather than answering yes, he began to lament over his ordeal… perhaps he felt sorry for himself for always missing the stirring of the water every year.

Blind Bartimaeus however knew what he wanted and also who could offer it. But there is another man worst than the man at the pool of Bethesda, that is the man who doesn’t want to be healed because of the hand-me-downs he is getting from his situation.

A story is told of an evangelist who went about healing blind people till he got to a town and saw a group of blind people.

“I will lay hands on them all and the Lord will heal them,” he thought to himself.

Therefore, he laid hand on the first and behold he received his sight. As soon as the rest of the group heard that one of them has received his sight, they all ran away carrying their bowl of penny in their hands. The one who could see cried out and beg the evangelist to make him blind again. Why? Because receiving his sight means he will no longer be eligible to beg for alms not knowing that greater opportunity lies in his being able to see.

Most of us are like this blind man. We are comfortable at the zone we are spiritually, financially, status wise and so on, so much that when God begins to shake the nest so we can fly, like a mother bird will do to her little babies, we begin to beg God to let us remain in the nest not knowing that greater opportunity is just some heights higher.

What is the Lord trying to take from you so He can release a greater blessing to you today? Friend think on these things and let go!
