” If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken)” -John 10:35

It was a common practise among children while growing up to slap themselves whenever they make their bible fall to the floor… atleast in the church I attended. As ridiculous as the idea was/is, I can still identify with the sacredness the bible held for us back then.

Till present day, anytime my bible falls to the floor, my natural instinct wants to lift my hand and slap myself but the better of me restricts me.

It reminds me of a joke I heard some few days ago that said; if your iPhone and your bible is about to fall, which will you rescue first? Someone replied, ‘the word of God cannot be broken, my iPhone screen cost about N35,000.’ Very funny ain’t it?

You know, in a sense, the man who replied is right but it made me reflect on the sacredness with which we held the word of God… even in our ignorance in those days and I concluded that if we still held that sacredness today, mixed that with the knowledge of the light of the glory of God as we see it in the face of Jesus Christ, then, we will be fine.

Our lives will prosper, we will live in peace through the storm and most of all, we will believe that no matter what we do, no matter what happens to us, we can hold on to the promises and not be shaken.

It is because most of us do not see the sacredness in every word written in the bible that makes us unable to come to the revelation of it. If we cannot come to the revelation, how then can we come to the manifestation? Therefore, we carry on in life ignorant of the power that is hovering around us passively without tapping into it, to bring it to life… for such a person, life must be so frustrating because he would be working outside of the grace of God.

No matter where you are today beloved, in your work with God, it doesn’t matter what you know or don’t know, begin right now to cherish the word of God. Make a decision to honour it than even your meal, you will not even know how you will begin to come to the revelation of the word as you do this because the bible makes us understand that it is how God called light to be out of darkness without any power station or running high voltage cable, it is the same way he will shine the knowledge of the glory in our heart.

I’m not saying that you should slap yourself every time your bible accidentally hit the floor, but let your reference for the word be so much that you literally cringe when and if that happens.

“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” — Joshua 1:8
