American rapper DMX has always wanted to be a preacher and in a recent interview on Breakfast Club, he mentioned that he feels being a pastor will align perfectly with his message as an artiste.

DMX may have stepped closer to the vision of becoming a pastor as a recent video posted on Facebook shows the New York rapper preaching in a church. about how he handles tragedy as it is the platform through which miracles are birthed.

“If I wasn’t a threat to the devil he wouldn’t waste his time. If I wasn’t special to God, how would I know what He’s willing to do for me? We know what He’s able to do. The word says, ‘All things are possible through Christ who strengthens,’ Amen!” DMX shouted. “So we know what He’s able to do How can you know what He’s willing to do until you’ve been placed in a situation where you need Him to do it for you? If you haven’t been somewhere where you need God to get you out of the situation, you wouldn’t know what He’s willing to do for you. We know what he’s able to do but we won’t know what He’s willing to do until we’re there.”

DMX first made his “call” of being a pastor known during an interview while he was in prison in 2012. He said in the prison interview that upon getting out, he would give his first sermon in the church.

Although the rapper had struggled with drugs and this has also brought him into various public mishaps and arrest, it seems it keeps bringing him closer to God and one cannot help but be optimistic about DMX.

DMX has also said during the Breakfast Club interview which he concluded with a spirit lifting prayerful freestyle that he hopes to release a Gospel album in the near future citing the situation that led him to record 6 tracks – all Gospel – in one night.
