Bible News: Wise Men Still Seek Jesus

“Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem” – Matt 2:1

During ‘those’days wise men were men of great philosophy, with wisdom in different field. They were referred to as ‘Magi’.
It is so significant and these ‘Magi’must be indeed wise for them to make a trip down for days, weeks or months just to worship Jesus.

Unlike the common claim, the wise men weren’t three, more so, they did not come to Jesus on the day he was born. The Bible did not give the number of the Magis but told us they came with 3 gifts. Also, These men were coming from the Far East, which means they probably saw the star on the day Jesus was born and let’s assume they got ready and began their journey the very next day, it would have taken them months to get to where Jesus was.

When they finally got to where the boy was, all the wise men wanted to do was worship Jesus. They even told Herod the reason why they sought Jesus was to Worship Him.

Today, a larger percentage of the world are learned in one field or the other, some even furthered in apply filed of study and therefore we can say most are wise in their own respect but the real wise men still seek Jesus.

They still follow the star to where the presence of God is and when they finally get there, they worship Jesus.

No matter what field of study or how learned you are in your field of study, if you do not seek the wisdom of God, that is not wisdom. The Bible says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Also, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, therefore, if you are wise, you will seek God too.
