The 266th and current Pope of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis was gifted with a $200,000 (£151,860) customized white Lamborghini which he donated to charity hours later.
The supercar which boast a 610 metric horsepower, was given to the pontiff by Lamborghini. The pope who also earlier shunned the papal limousines used by his predecessors in favor of a simple blue Ford Focus donated the car to charity while also stating that the money will be used to rebuilding the homes and churches of persecuted Christians in the Nineveh Plains in Iraq.
They will also go to help female victims of human trafficking and forced prostitution and to two Italian groups which provide medical services in central Africa.
The car is set to be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s on May 12, 2018 for the project stated above
