Bible News: Drifting – Don’t Be Careless With Your Destiny!

When the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their desire, putting out to sea, they sailed close by Crete. But not long after, a tempestuous head wind arose, called Euroclydon. Acts 27:13‭-‬14 NKJV

I always tell people, nobody wakes up in the morning with the aim of failing, it comes in subtly.

One omission, one decision, one wrong turn at a time and before you know it, you are in too deep!

Let any situation in life meet you at the place of prayer and I bet you will be landing on your feet! But when we become careless with our spiritual life, we begin to drift.

We are not physical beings having spiritual experiences. Instead, we are spiritual beings having physical experience so the setting for our lives happens in the spiritual.

You know, when you download an app on your phone and you want it to function in a certain way, you go to the setting and make that happen. The same way, the setting of your life happens at the prayer alter.

Also we always confuse God’s timing for our chronological clock. Our mind is so ingrained in the chronology that we confuse God’s timing with calendars and clocks. But God’s timing comes by instructions received from the word.

For instance, we declared times of renewal few weeks ago. If you follow the instructions then, automatically, the time right now says it is time for upliftment! All you have to do is go to the settings (your prayer alter) and let your life function in accordance.

If you have been passing off this instructions however, you have already began to drift from the timing. God forbid one is so far gone off course before one realises.

The bible talked about Paul and some crew traveling to Italy. The tempest started subtly with a soft wind but the bible recorded that soon after, a tempestuous wind began to blow (Act 27:13-14). But Paul had received instructions. He understood the timing. In verse 21 of the same chapter, he said to the crew:

“Men, you should have listened to me… and not… incurred this disaster and loss” (Acts 27:21).

So I hope you are listening to me today?
