“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you.”
– Isaiah 49:15
I can write a long epistle about being alone because I placed so much value on friends and what I refer to as “unnecessary relationships” as a teenager. I placed a lot of value on them and their opinion of me makes or breaks me. As the years pass and challenges set him, friends became strangers because it is true what they say; people love to identify with success. Others simply became distant because of… Oh well… Distance.
It hurts terribly when people who you thought will be there for you simply move on when you needed a shoulder to lean on but one thing those years of being left alone thought me is Jesus meant it when He said “Lo, I am with you, even to the end of the world” because honestly, that’s the only “Person” that always show up. Yes, and He does not only show up, He always bring solution with Him.
“You are my friends, if you do whatever I command you.”
– John 15:14
Friends will leave you, people you thought will be there are going to suddenly disappoint you, relationships you thought was heading in good direction will come to an abrupt end. Do you know why? Most people are around you because of the value you place on them (in most cases), it’s only Jesus that can be a friend for the value He adds to you …and also add the right people to you!
