“The younger one said to him, ‘Father, give me my share of the property now.’ So the man divided his property between his two sons.”
– Luke 15:12

6_reasons_why_babies_fuss_and_how_to_soothe_them_8z1aoHumans have two problem when it comes to what we want – we assume we know what we want and like babies, we want it NOW!

The problem with these is that God does not intend for us to keep taking baby milk when we are supposed to be eating solid food and also because we want it now, he often give us what has been referred to as the “permissive will of God” so that, haven obtain what we “want,” He may help us grow from our mistakes, like the prodigal son. (Most times, some people do not recover from the mistake as it can sometimes lead to a fatal end… Experience is sometimes a hard teacher).

I mentioned in my last post in this category that I was once a secular artiste. I spent a lot of time praying to God for a breakthrough in my career and I let it stole my peace to the point that I demanded for a change from God. I looked unhealthy at that period, I guess God must have seen I was going to harm myself so he gave me what I was fussing about.

It felt good to be in the spotlight for a change and as time went on, I felt comfortable enough to indulge myself and lived like God wasn’t watching me. At the end, I had wasted resources and put myself and others in more pain than before.

But thank God for that lesson because it is the result of my views from God’s eyes today. It was a lesson well learnt.

Let God’s will be done, like Jesus said when he was about to face the cross. Yes, the process may feel slow and painful, but it is worth every wait at the end of the day… Just trust God and don’t force Him to give you what you want because it may not be what you really need.
