DAILY BREAD: SWAYING IN THE WINDS OF DOCTRINES

That we henceforth be no longer children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men and their cunning and craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive – Ephesians 4:14

If you do not know who you are, the world will sell you an adulterated copy of yourself and you will be forced to accept it.

The world is such a fallen place and corrupt seed like weeds in a bush are flourishing. You pick it up on the social media, you pick it up at the place of work and worst, you pick the seed in church!

Carried about with every wind of doctrine

A lot of Christian do not put on Christ, they put on clothes, titles, tags, attitude and more. It’s so easy to be dissuaded and join the bandwagon, after all, the saying goes, “when in Rome, act like a Roman.”

But a Kingdom citizen is not of the world therefore the rules of this world should not guide him but little knowledge of our person in the light of God’s word has made us conform. A little compromise here and there has made Christians drift away from the standard laid down by God’s word and has made them powerless in a world they were meant to dominate.

They can no longer see things as God sees it, think as God thinks and act as God acts. Worst of all, We have lost our first love – Christ – the head of the church. As a result, we are making young Christians trip and fall on their way to God.

God is saying to all His Children today, “remember why you gave your life up for Me in the first place and trace your footsteps.” He knows we didn’t intend to but somehow we have drifted from the perfect will, now is the time to reconcile.
