For the Senior Pastor of the House on The Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, his ministry’s determination to promote gospel music in Nigeria was part of a “kingdom commitment to restore music as a vehicle through which praise and worship is brought to God by man”.
He went on to assert that even beyond music, the ministry was further interested in equally promoting a kingdom agenda in the entertainment industry, stating that he was particularly impressed by the fact that Nollywood had since gone on to become one of the three most prolific film industries in the world, and is clearly now a very important shaper of our values and cultures that could not be ignored.
“The entertainment industry is a very important one. Nollywood, for example, has since come to register as a most important source for shaping and defining culture and values. For us as a ministry, we are going to continue to encourage many of the players in Nollywood who are working to ensure that all of our positive cultures and values are not eroded. This is why for example, we are having a Special Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 3, 2013 to commemorate 20 years of Nollywood as an industry,” the man of God remarked.
