‘To My Knees’ was written during one of the darkest eras of my life. I hopped on a plane from Lagos to Abuja to just escape (I thought at the time). I was holed up in a guest-room of my wonderful Pastor Goodheart and Bimbo Ekwueme’s home. I felt that the troubles that had assailed me had brought me to a point of no return. Helplessly, I wallowed in a pool of tears while I prayed and wailed and wailed and wailed. I asked God that 29th day of September, 2009 – ‘Why do you always bring me to my knees?’ I kept saying it like a mantra; on and on, over and over again. Then a light-bulb flashed in my head! Bam! Glowreeyah-that’s a song! That’s a song! The tears ceased like they never even flowed at all. I grabbed a pen and I wrote. I hummed the chorus every now and again ‘cos it just kept me going through that very sustained trial. My sound-board of a brother Enyi Omeruah, loved it once he heard it and ‘marketed’ the song ever-so strategically to the legendary Cobhams Asuquo who was delighted to produce it! So this is for you, dear listener, I pray that you always and forever recognise that no trouble, no circumstance, no fire that you go through can ever rob you of your understanding/experience of just how GREAT, LOVING and a WONDER that our Heavenly Father is! I pray that through your storm, that you can find your own song! Blesh yeuuu!
Do follow me on twitter @glowreeyah just because…….!? :)”
