Born Emmanuel Oche Abraham in Kaduna state, Idoma by tribe from Benue state Nigeria. The oldest of eleven children, he discovered his talent for singing at an early age of 12 in a local choir of the Trinity Methodist church Kaduna, were his dad was a minister, at age 15 he would watch over his neighbor kids, wash his cloths, iron them, run errands, clean the house and work in his neighbour’s book and record store for free everyday after school just to learn how to play the guitar from his nneighbour his early influences are Maranatha singers, Musical youths, New Edition, Algreen, Dion, The Winans, Rescue Acappella, Panam Percy Paul, Dan Seal, Boyz II Men, Whitney Houston and Commissioned. He started singing professionally in 1995 with a group he and four other of his friends formed called ‘GLITTERS’ known for their unique acappella and pure vocal styles together they toured different part of the country singing in churches, prisons, school campuses, crusades, conferences, youth camps and concerts. They were signed to Ivory Music Label, and released their debut album in 1996 titled ” Change” and in 2000 released their sophomore album titled “Tomorrow” both which Emmy wrote more than half of the songs. The group however disbanded in 2005 after loosing one of it’s member in an accident that year, Emmy became a solo artist, releasing his debut CD in November 2005. Titled “It’s A New Day” Which had air plays on radio and two videos showing on Tv.
In 2008 Emmy started working on his second album which took quite awhile because at a point he got doing some other things like business and construction.
Driven by his passion for his calling as a music minister he decided in 2013 to complete his new album which was mastered in the USA and had a high quality mass production and excellent packaging work done in China.
But more than the quality of production, mix and packaging it is about the message in the songs and the delivery with excellent vocals and passion, Emmy worked with his longtime friend and producer Segun Samuel, aka ‘Basegs’ and Mr. Magik, also worked with other artiste on the backup vocals and the renowned Tope sax.
And finally on 29th of September 2013. The album titled “The Life” which has fifteen tracks was released in Abuja Nigeria, and has since been playing on radio stations and online, with tremendous impact on all who heard it and the videos to some of these songs are in progress. More than an artist, Emmy is a minister of the gospel with a unique grace and anointing who loves to see lives transformed, liberated and motivated through his music.
Emmy has served as worship leader, music director, for Rev. Yinka Yusuf at the Household Of Love Church, Abuja (1999-2001) Worship leader and assistant music director/assistant head of department, with Summit Bible Church Abuja, (2005-2009) and Head Of Team (Cloud Team) in his present local church, Graceville christain Center.
Emmy is fast becoming a voice to be reckoned with in this time both in Nigeria, africa and the world at large.
