Offer the sacrifices of righteousness and put your trust in the Lord.” – Psalm 51:19″ – Hebrews 11:1
In my journey with God I have learned that most times what we want to do is not always what God wants us to do. This may sometimes hurt but if we let God have His way, He will bring us to a fulfilling end concerning the matter.
I’m ranting because I am feeling the pain of letting go of what I want presently but you know what? I can trust God with my life. Even if it doesn’t make sense right now, at the end, God always bring me to my expected end.
This is what the psalmist spoke about when he said; “you shall be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness” in Psalm 51:19 and also “offer the sacrifice of righteousness and put your trust in God.”
You cannot offer lambs to God anymore, Jesus became the Holy Lamb of God. He took away our sins and the consequences but you can still offer a form of sacrifice to God. This is what God wants to take from you. He wants you to sacrifice your flesh, what you want. He wants you to deny yourself. He wants you to sacrifice your sin. He wants to take it from you and give you Jesus’ holiness.
This is the sacrifice of righteousness. If you can let go of that addiction, that lie, that sin that so easily beset you. If you can let go of your comfort to extend a loving hand to someone else, guess what, you are offering the sacrifice of righteousness.
