You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” – Isaiah 26:3
One day’s trouble is enough to fill a person’s mind especially if they are unresolved. Someone having a bad day and having other unresolved issues pile up on it can be forced to give up trying not to get worked up.
Worry starts in a subtle way, then proceeds to itemize what is wrong till a mountain clouds your judgement and you are drawn in.
Worry can master you till it becomes a reflex to situation. As a matter of fact, I have heard someone who was going through a bad day replied saying “when all these keep piling up, how can one do without worrying?”
But worry, contrary to general believe, is not a reflex. It is learned, cultivated till it becomes an habit, the only thing is that it is what we see too often so we have concluded that it is a normal reaction to circumstances.
Like every other habit, it can be done away with. I have had the oppurtunity to counsel a lot of people in this aspect and while trying to help them overcome their worries, I realize that most people who tried to give up the habit break when the situation becomes overwhelming but it is just at the other side of that overwhelming period that victory lies.
Truth is something good may never happen that will make you happy but a happy state will always make something good happen. Do you understand that?
Let me explain further. Your countenance determines the experience you have. If you are always in a pitiable state, then people will come around to pity you but make no mistake, they will not stick around. On the other hand, if you are always in a merry state, chances are you will be fun to be with and therefore attract fun, joy, laughter.
In the same way, unlearning worry and keeping a happy mood such that your circumstances does not determine your happiness is a step of faith that will eventually attract thanksgiving which will unlock victory.
But how does one unlearn worry? Just like any other habit, you replace it with another – in this case – Happiness.
Make up your mind that in any situation, you will keep your mind on God’s promises beyond the overwhelming breaking point and before long, happiness will master you and attract your victory. You are waiting on God to do something but the truth is God has been waiting on you for a longer period because He already did anything and everything that there is to be done about any given situation in your life!

To overcome worry, pray and give it to God.
Phil 4:6
Be careful for nothing pray about everything
Anything that is a source of worry should be prayed about. Talk to God in faith about that thing, then leave it at God’s altar and let Him use His might to do what only he can.
You will find peace if you can get into the habits of not carrying your weights yourself, use the help of the Holy Spirit.
