And the government will be upon His shoulder.” – Isaiah 9:6b
So many times the word of God has said to us that as Christ is, so are we in this world. (1John4:17), It also said in another instance that we have the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16). What I’m trying to say is there are too many instances where God called us his children making Christ the first who brought us into the common wealth of the Kingdom.
So it does not come as a surprise when the Holy Spirit began to minister to me that the time has come when the ‘government will be upon our shoulder.’
Does that mean some of us with the mind of God will take over political offices? Certainly yes but much more is the fact that a child of God will control circumstances and situations, and also be the light that is showing the way in different spheres of affairs and not just political.
I, for instance, do not really want to get involve in politics but that doesn’t mean what I do, say and how I act cannot influence someone who will, but first, I have to come to the position of leadership.
Many Christians want to enjoy the benefit that God gives but they do not want to suffer with Christ, therefore, someone may profess Christ today but when situation and circumstances blow a boisterous storm in their direction, they change course. Such a person should not think he will receive anything from God. He cannot come into the leadership position God intended for him that way.
The bible says Jesus learned ‘trusting obedience’ through the things He suffered (Hebrews 5:8), this makes us realize that the fact that you have the government on your shoulder doesn’t mean you will assume the position automatically but you will be tested and tried with situation and circumstances and how you fair determines your next level.
Not all tests and trials are bad. Sometimes we go through a phase of weeping so that we are well equipped for the days of laughter. You cannot spell ‘testimony’ without the affix ‘test’, So yeah, at this period in your life, God wants to put the government upon your shoulder but before the glorification comes the disfiguration. Just look to Jesus, he is the perfect example you need.
