I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the Lord has said, even among the survivors whom the Lord calls.” – Joel 2: 30-32
Last week I spoke about some of the revelation I have been receiving about the new year we are going into and God has been confirming His word revealing similar visions to ministers all over. I’m grateful that the spirit of God is one.
I said that we Christians need to be at alert and prepare for the second coming of Christ as the day of the Lord connotes this amongst other things for no one knows exactly the hour when He will come except the Father, nonetheless, let us be ready when He will come.
Also, I want you to know that the day of the Lord can also be the day God decides to visit a man. On such a day, a man can receive the beautiful gift of salvation or finally receive the long awaited miracle.
Something that is worthy of note is that on the day of the Lord, God will also exact judgement. No matter how you view the day, either the second coming or God paying a visit, it will be a day of judgement for those who feel they have no need of God. The book of Joel 2:32 says only those who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Little wonder why being saved is synonymous with giving one’s life to God. What does it mean to be saved? That is, one escapes a danger… there you have it! The day of the Lord is going to be a dangerous day (without padding words) but for those who call on the name of the Lord, it will be a day of favour.
When God was going to visit the earth in the days of Noah, he warned Noah, and Noah in turn warned others but we see that it was those who believed that a rain that will lift up an ark on dry ground is coming that were saved, Today God is saying Jesus is that ark, He is asking you to run into that ark, believe in the ark because just like in the days of Noah, the day of the Lord is coming like an unexpected rain and it is those who call on His name that will be saved.
What does it take to be saved, Romans 10:9-13 gives us a beautiful step to follow. Just repeat it aloud, believe it, personalize and decide… let the Holy Spirit take it from there. The miracle you are waiting for is just one God-visit away and much more is the beautiful day when we shall be caught up with Christ and away to heaven.
