R&B Artiste August Alsina & Tasha Cobbs Perform Travis Greene’s “Soul Will Sing”

August Alsina, American recording artist from New Orleans signed to Def Jam Recordings during his “Don’t Matter Tour” invited  Gospel music star Tasha Cobbs-Leonard as they performed Travis Greene’s “Soul Will Sing.”

The 24 years old pop star on his nationwide tour with R&B star Rotimi and Tone Smith decided to take a “praise break” by inviting Cobbs-Leonard to join him on stage to perform a duet at the Charlotte, North Carolina-leg of his tour

Before she took the stage, Alsina revealed the reason for the praise break and the struggle he endured to start the tour in July.

“When I tell you the devil has been busy, the devil has been busy. But I called my friend and said, ‘[the devil] doesn’t want me to do this tour,'” he told the audience. “My friend, she said, ‘Aug, you’ve got to praise your way through it. My friend, she prayed for me and she prayed with me.” he concluded

The superstar who has always be vocal about his faith. August Alsina shared some video clips of the moment on Instagram, while also  revealing the importance of praising in the midst of struggles in his caption.

Having dealt with drugs, poverty and escaped death, to become one of R&B’s most promising stars, he collapsed during a concert and was in a coma for three days in 2014. He also faced a degenerative eye disease in 2015. He underwent surgery to correct the eye defect and announced to his followers after the successful surgery:

“A lot of things that are so natural to us in life (like waking up and being able to see) we can take it for granted, Thank God the OG for allowing me to see. The good the bad the ugly, I’m just glad to see.”

More recently, Alsina said in a interview with Jada Pinkett-Smith that he was diagnosed with a liver disease where his “autoimmune system is fighting against itself.”
