– Wilson Joel raises awareness to help Aspiring Gospel singer Sylvester off the streets

Award winning music producer Wilson Joel has helped an aspiring Gospel music artiste actualize his dream through the #GetSylvesterOfftheStreets campaign on social media.
Using crowd-funding technique, Wilson Joel was able to raise over N1m for Sylvester Idhegbo, who sings and sells lyrics book at different Lagos bus garages including Oshodi and Mile 12. Peace Idera Oni (@irienosaoni) had shared a video of Sylvester singing Preye Odede’s song “Ebezina” and “Alagbara” by Onos, written by Wilson Joel on Instagram. She had been inspired by his talent and vocal ability. Wilson Joel who got wind of the post reposted and sought help in locating the garage singer.
He located the singer with the help of Akaneno Charles and launched out a campaign to help raise fund for his music project and also, raise his living condition.
“So in 2 weeks, a Miracle of kindness & love happened to Sylvester through you! May we always be favored & provided for even in this new month and beyond. Getting an apartment in the coming days. The remainder of the money, as more comes in will be given to Sylvester for his family upkeep & etc. Once again on behalf of Sylvester I say a massive THANK YOU! For trusting me, I also say THANK YOU!!!” – Wilson Joel posted on Instagram.
Nigerian Info OAP, Adenike Oyetunde sobbed as she listened to Sylvester story during an interview at the station. Sylvester narrated life, living in a wooden shanty in Ajegunle with his wife and kids. The pure-hearted Sylvester kept his smile through the heartwrenching testimony and responded with sheer enthusiasm.
