People who talk about how the church and the pastors are scheming to “eat our money” because the pastor quoted Malachi 3 to preach about tithe often make me LoL!

‘“Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.

“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’

“In tithes and offerings.  You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.’ – Malachi 3: 8 – 10

I thank God for 2 Corinthians 9 and how we are enlightened to give to God in love and in abundance

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.  Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work’ – 2 Corinthians 9: 6 – 8

However, my problem with this is that you still think “our money” is OUR MONEY.

Brova! If your money is still your money, there is a part of your life you are still holding on to and you are yet to give to God. This is why there is all sorts of striving amongst us

From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? – James 4:1

Yes, we give from a position of love and not out of compulsion but LOVE is responsibility and commitment. This is why the euphoria of love as the world knows it can only last for so long before crashing. The love that is of God is responsible and committed.

And if this is the case, you are supposed to be committed to fulfil the law of giving. Therefore it doesn’t matter where the pastor is quoting from, it is God who gives the power to get wealth. (Deut 8:18)

Your job is not your job. It is an avenue through which God pours His resources into your life for the fulfillment of His purpose.

Therefore is it out of order to go to the owner of the resources after His resources come into my hand and say “Take all you want to take and give me all you want to give me”? Come to think of it, He takes only just a little.

I have decided not to question where the tithe and offering go. Who is using it for what and so on. This is because I purposed in my heart to give to God, and I’m not holding on to it after I have given to Him! I give and give my account to God, (Yes, I document my tithe and the testimony is amazing!). Let the church and the pastors give their own account to God.

Yup! Call me a dummy but are we not fools in love?
