“The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.” – Psalms 110:2 KJV

Most times we are trying to have faith for our expectations but that is not a kingdom principle. We are supposed to live in faith.

The word of the Lord said the just shall live by faith but if any man turns back, God’s Spirit does not delight in such.  Heb10:38. Therefore the time the challenge shows up is not the time to try and build your faith. Faith building happens in and out of season. Bible says “build yourself up in your most holy faith.”  Jude 1:20.

No matter what the situation is, we are expected to see through the eyes of faith. Hence, the bible says So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. (2 Cor. 4:18).

The power to rule in the midst of the enemies is not knowing how to cast and bind the person you perceive to be the one hindering your progress but to be able to see the way God sees and speak healing when health is failing, speak riches where finance is low, speak peace in the midst of the storm and miracles in the midst of challenges.

Psalm 110:2 says when we are able to have this right perspective of faith, God will send the rod of our strength, i.e, the authority that empowers us – His Spirit – out from His presence and unto us.

Therefore to be able to rule and reign in life as the king and priest God calls us does not begin when the miracle happens, it begins in the midst of the challenges – being able to speak faith where there was supposed to be fear. Thus, Psalm 110:2 concludes “rule in the midst of your enemies”.

Jesus told a parable in Matthew 13:24-30 saying

“The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field;  but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.  But when the grain had sprouted and produced a crop, then the tares also appeared. So the servants of the owner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The servants said to him, ‘Do you want us then to go and gather them up?’ But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the tares you also uproot the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, “First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

God meant that the challenges you deal with helps you to grow in His knowledge, because without the challenges, you cannot have the harvest. If God was to take away that which you are facing today, you will have to forfeit the testimony as well because it is the TEST that births the testimony, and without it, the testimony cannot be birthed. The test and the testimony works hand in hand. Just like the owner of the barn told the servant not to pull out the tares, but allow them grow with the wheat so that in the process of pulling them out, he does not destroy the harvest.

God is also watching all you are dealing with today. He sees the challenges and while you are saying “does God not care if I perish?” He is watching the challenges and how it will help birth the testimony. When the testimony finally comes, you will forget all the challenges you have had to put up with because like the tares, they will be gathered up and burnt! So friends, rule right now in the midst of those challenges that are looking like enemies!

Prayer Guide

1. I speak peace over every raging storm around me because I am born of God and have overcome the world.

2. I speak the life of God to cast down imaginations of evil and high things exalting itself against God’s knowledge in my life
