Prospa Ochinmana – Ekweme

“Ekweme” by Prospa Ochimana was so big in 2018 that it spread across the nation like wildfire. Every location, every state, “Ekweme” was either on the stereo or on the lips of the people. The beautiful worship song of great depth features another great worshipper – Mrs Osinachi Nwanchukwu.

Nara – Tim Godfrey

Tim Godfrey had Travis Greene singing in the Eastern dialect of Nigeria and over a million people were curious to listen in the first week of release. “Nara” became quite a hit cutting across Nigeria, Ghana and the rest of the world world.

Ada – Jesus (You are Able)

It’s been a big year for Ada. From the “Future Now” album tour in the UK and the US, to debuting at the Experience 13. Ada has got it coming for a long time and “Jesus” by Ada – although released in 2017 – really took the homerun this year!

David G – My Trust is in You

My Trust is in You by David G was released in 2016 but became quite popular recently. Many are just catching the bug of David G and at such, we have included the most popular of his tune on our 2018 list of Most popular Gospel songs of 2018.

Gabriel Eziashi – Aka Jehovah

Gabriel Eziashi’s “Aka Jehovah” is not very recent as well but became quite popular in 2018. It ruled the airwaves and praise and worship session.

Victoria Orenze – On Fire

The beautiful thing about Victoria Orenze is that she is not particularly an artiste as she is a minister but her songs her catching on because of the depth of spiritual deposit that produced the songs. “On Fire” is one of the major songs of the year… yes!

TY Bello & Tope Alabi – Logan Ti Ode

The song was birthed from TY Bello’s spontaneous worship session which featured Tope Alabi. Due to the relatable lyrics of the song, it became quite an instant hit and trended on Nigeria’s Twitter. Many celebrities have made reference to the song in their social media posts. That’s to show just one aspect of the song’s popularity.

Gratitude – Rabababa Eh

It’s Hip, it’s urban and trendy. COZA’s Gratitude dropped the song and Nigeria had no choice but to love it. It was complemented with a video which helped the wide spread of the song.

Preye Odede – Oshimiri Atata

From inception, one could tell that “Oshimiri Atata” by Preye Odede is going to be big! It follows the trend of Preye’s previously popular song “Ebezina” but with a more grown sound. Preye has put in work this year and while there are a number of successful release from the sonorous music minister, this one stands out!
