– Bayelsa State Governor Duoye Diri worships God
Newly elected Bayelsa State Governor, Duoye Diri was caught engaging in worship shortly after news got to him that the Supreme court has upheld his election.
The 60 year-old politician was officially declared the governor of the state by the Supreme court shortly after the court dismissed the application filed by the opposition party APC, seeking a review of the judgement annulling the election of its candidate in the November 2019 election.
Douye Diri, also stated on Wednesday that the Supreme Court ruling as an affirmation of God’s judgment which paved the way for him to emerge victorious. The court held that APC’s application lacked merit and that the decision of the court cannot be reversed.
He was then caught on tape engaging in worship and thanking the Lord for the court’s verdict on the election at the home of his predecessor, Seriake Dickson.
He described the Supreme Court ruling as an affirmation of God’s judgment which paved the way for him to emerge victorious.
“Once again, I describe myself as a miracle governor. So the Supreme Court just affirmed the judgement of the Almighty God, who made it possible for me to become the governor of Bayelsa State.
“For me, there is no victor no vanquished as the victory is for all Bayelsans. It is not a winner takes all.
“My message is that of reconciliation as I will run an all-inclusive government. Let everyone that is aggrieved sheathe their swords. Let us think about Bayelsa first and ourselves last. By this judgement, it is clear the final hurdle has been cleared.”
