– Review: “I Have Never Seen God Change” – Sammie Okposo Creates Global Sound From Folk Music
Multiple award winning international Gospel music minister Sammie Okposo puts a Funk twist on this traditional folk choral, steps up the tempo and executes a very professional call and response in the style of a Negro Spiritual.
Recorded live at the Sammie Okposo Praise Party London, in 2018, “I Have Never Seen God Change” by Sammie Okposo is a feel good music, aside the fact that it carries a message of assurance and confidence in God’s infallibility.
It is safe to envisage that the single will be a praise starter on many alters on Sunday mornings due to its call-to-action characteristics. Sammie Okposo took the feature up a notch with aesthetics and dynamics of style.
Funk music is a mixture of Soul music, Psychedelic Rock, Jazz and R&B. It emanated from the United States African-American communities in the mid-1960s but quickly became an elite form of music quite appreciated globally. Sammie Okposo took a traditional folk choral and successfully made a global sound of it with quite an excellent execution.
Considering the fact that the song was recorded live, a lot of professionalism went into the production and it is evident in the excellent mixing and mastering.
“I Have Never Seen God Change” is coming after the very successful mid-2019 release titled “Sing Halleluyah.” On it heels is the Sammie Okposo Praise Party (SOPP) 2020 live in Hamburg, Amsterdam and Bremem on the 14th, 15th and 16th of February respectively. He will also make appearances in Houston on the 22nd and 23rd of February at Dee Jones Breakout Concert and Living Word Chapel’s Festival of Praise.
