News that Nigerian Gospel music minister Preye Omayuku has passed on to glory dealt the Gosposphere a hard blow.

It came with such a shock that many are still trying to wrap their minds around the fact that the former Port Harcourt based Gospel music minister with spirit-lifting songs including “Promise Keeper,” “A Thousand Tongues,” “It Is Finished” and many more, will no longer be with us in this realm.

Breaking the news on Facebook was Preye Omayuku’s husband Ogbemi Omayuku who said he needed to share  his thoughts while trying to deal with how distraught the parting with his better half has made him.

“I really feel like you are with the great cloud of witnesses watching me as I try to figure out life without you as my partner, best friend, lover, client, wife, co-parent, better half, take care of-er, cheerleader, all round support… I love you and miss you so much, Preye. See you on the other side after I am done here. You made my life so much better,” part of his post read.

Preye Omayuku passed on to be with the Lord on the 5th of March, 2020 after a brief illness, according to The Independent Ghana. She moved to Lagos in 2019 where she became an active member of the Music Team of Petra Christian Center, Lekki. She was billed to minister at the Look and Live Concert with Pastor Ayo Ajani in Port Harcourt on the 22nd of February but announced that she will not be able to make the concert due to “circumstances beyond [her] control at this time.”

The news of her passing on was announced on the 7th of March when her husband made the post on Facebook and it was received with great shock. A memorial website was opened for her on forevermissed.com to document her life, times and tribute have poured in by the dozens by those who have been impacted by her life.

“For indeed Words fail me. I cant comprehend it. But I lay it down on the feet of our lord. It is indeed finished. All the pains, sickness, judgment. It is finished my darling. I pray we meet someday where I can give you a hug i couldn’t give you and tell you how much you blessed me on earth. Good night our Angel. I bet you will be singing already in Heaven. Please father guard and guide her loved ones jealousy in your victorious right hand of righteousness.  Adieu Preye Omayuku.”

“Sis P, Words can’t describe how much I miss you. I have known you close to 10years but in these past few months we became like sisters. You were my big sister,my cheerleader of dreams. You so believed in me, telling me ‘Judith its going to work out’ any time I come up with ideas on how to improve my life and I looked forward to so much time with you here but I know you are in glory with our Lord Jesus Christ. I love you so much and I’m so glad and blessed I was with you in the last days of your life on this side of eternity. Good night Sis P.”
