Pastor Ituah Ighodalo Shows Unrelenting Faith As Tributes Pour In Over Wife’s Demise

Following the news of the sudden demise of Pastor Ibidun Ighodalo, the wife of the Senior Pastor of Trinity House Church, Lagos, Ituah Ighodalo condolences and tributes have poured in their numbers due to the life of blessing and impact which she led.

The ex- beauty queen, Ibidun Ighodalo who was in her early 40s, was the boss of Elizabeth R, a leading event packaging outfit was found dead in her hotel room in the early hours of Sunday morning after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest in Port Harcourt, Rivers state where she was to help with the building of isolation centres for COVID-19 patients. CNN reports.

In a statement, Femi Adesina, special adviser to the president on media, said Mohammadu Buhari shares in the pain and sorrow of the family and prays for God’s comfort for the entire family, friends and members of the church. He said the president recalls that Ighodalo is one person who faithfully prays for the country and the government.

The president also revealed how the Man of God sent him a personal letter of condolence when Abba Kyari, his former chief of staff, passed away in April. “Please accept my condolence. May God give you the fortitude to bear the loss, and strengthen you at this trying time,” the president said.

Despite the weight of the loss, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo dressed up and was in church on Sunday morning to officiate a burial service. Speaking at the service, Pastor Ighodalo said the news of his wife’s death at 2am shattered his life. He went further describing life as a mystery which no one would ever understand.

In a video, he said: “At 2am, I received a call that shattered my entire life. We do not have control over most things in life, how you were born, which womb you came from and your race.

“Life is a deep mystery no one even as wise as Solomon can tell you they understand life, There is going to come a time when we will see clearly as Jesus sees. Nobody has control over life, this time yesterday if anyone had told me this is how it will be i would have said it is impossible. Life is nothing.” He shared.

In a statement by Asue Ighodalo, the families of the deceased also requested for privacy while mourning the late beauty queen.

“The Ighodalo and Olaleye Ajayi families are deeply saddened to announce the sudden loss of our beloved wife and daughter Mrs. Ibidunni Ituah-Ighodalo who passed away in the early hours of today,” the statement read.

“As you will understand, this is a difficult time for our families and we will appreciate some privacy during this time. All information of burial proceedings will be provided in due course,” it added.

Describing the late Ibidun, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, recalled the contributions of the late Mrs Ighodalo to the society. He described her as “a personal friend” who was unassuming and down to earth. The Speaker prayed to God to grant her eternal rest.

Also, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar said Mrs Ighodalo’s life may have been short but it was “impactful”.

“Her Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation, a non-profit organisation was a source of blessing to many women. My deepest condolences to the Ighodalo and Olaleye Ajayi families. May her soul rest in peace,” Atiku tweeted.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who visited the family’s residence in Lagos, said he was shocked when he received the news that his friend, Pastor Ituah, had lost his wife and partner.

“Mrs Ibidun Ighodalo was an inspiration to many. I pray for strength for Pastor Ituah, their children, loved ones and the many she has touched,” Sanwo-Olu said.

Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Sam Adeyemi, tweeted, “Our prayers are with our dear Pastor Ituah Ighodalo and family, and Trinity House, on the passing of Mrs Ibidunni Ituah-Ighodalo. We pray for God’s comfort and strength. Heaven gained an angel, but it’s a great loss for us on this side of eternity. It is well.”
