General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Adeboye had said he was not going to stop praying that God’s judgement be brought upon those who had perpetrated the evil of raping and murdering one of his daughters inside a Redeemed Christian Church of God assembly in Benin.

The tweet on the Twitter page of the National Human Right Commission of Nigeria also support the claim.

Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Johnson Kokumo, on Wednesday paraded 6 suspects in the death of Uwaila Vera Omozuwa, a 100-level microbiology UNIBEN Student raped and killed at an RCCG church in the Ihovbe quarters in Benin.

The defendants include Nelson Ogbebor, Akato Valentine, Mrs Tina Samuel, Mrs Mary Ade, Nosa Osabohien and Collins Ulegbe.

According to Daily Post, Collins Ulegbe confessed that his landlady, Mrs Mary Ade, gave them the sum of N1 million to kill the undergraduate.

He said after the act, he used a handkerchief given to him by the landlady to wipe Uwa’s blood and private part and returned it to his landlady as she wanted to use it for rituals. Mrs Mary Ade denied the allegation.

Remember that late Uwaila had gone to the Redeemed church to read when the accused raped her and severely injured her, resulting in her death.

“This is a matter of great concern to Inspector General of Police, Muhammad Adamu, who, along with our police personnel, sent homicide experts to Benin,” the CP said.

“What we are seeing today is the result of police efforts to get to the root of the crime, and today, I announce to you that the culprits have been arrested.”

Kokumo said the post-mortem confirmed that the victim had been raped.

Pastor Adeboye who said they were not going to cease praying, also said that the church is working with the police to get to the root of the crime. Apostle John Suleman had also backed the prophecy when he condemned the act.

The Edo state Commissioner of Police also promised then, that the police would try its very best to uncover those behind Uwaila’s rape and murder, he added, that the parade of suspects had made good on the promise.

The CP also said that the suspects have made “confessional statements.”
