Pastor Adeboye buys helicopter for evangelism… how true is the story?
General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor EA Adeboye was reported to have recently acquired a jet for rural evangelism, according to a post on the Instagram page of Church Gist.
PM News also reported that the helicopter has a registration marking ‘5N-EAA’ representing ‘Enoch Adejare Adeboye’ and it arrived Nigeria recently.

Pastor Adeboye had in 2019 visited about 20 towns around Nigeria within 4 days preaching and winning souls to Christ. He tagged the endeavour “Let’s Go A Fishing.” No doubt, Pastor Adeboye who was labelled as having the “most ambitious evangelism drive globally,” according to news outfits Al-Jazeera, can reach these communities easier by means of an helicopter. The news outfit stated that the helicopter was purchased solely for the purpose, according to its source.
Pastor Adeboye has always said that his goal is to make the RCCG church a 3 minute driving distance in the developed world and a 5 minute distance in the developing world. He has grown the church from 38 churches in the last 39 years to reach about 40,000. And as years progresses, it is easy and wise to pave the way for further expansion. Using more sophisticated means to reach difficult terrains is definitely an exploitable option.
Recently, Living Faith Church, led by Bishop David Oyedipo, also acquired a new helicopter, according to the report.
Living Faith Church is also planting 10,000 new churches in 2020, with more than 5,000 already planted around Nigeria and in some other African countries, despite lockdown caused by the epidemic of Covid 19.
The RCCG and the Living Faith Church, commonly denigrated on social media, currently carry out the most aggressive evangelism with large-scale church planting.
