– Gospel Artiste Phil Thompson weds Takiyah Romain
US based Gospel singer Phil Thompson is officially off the bachelor’s list as he finally ties the knot with long time girlfriend and best friend, Takiyah Romain.
The Dove award nominee and “My Worship” crooner got married to his long time girlfriend in a private ceremony that was attended by just family and friends on Monday.
Phil who was a former member of the popular urban contemporary gospel group Ashmont Hill before embarking on his successful solo career initially proposed to Takiyah last year and since then wedding announcements have been really anticipated by fans and well wishers.

While taking to his social media to happily share moments from the wonderful event, he also said; “The happiest day of my life. I married my soul mate… my best friend… #forever”
In October 2019, SelahAfrik announced that Phil Thompson had proposed to his girlfriend Takiyah Romain. Pictures from the proposal had circulated the web making it obvious that the marriage ceremony was around the corner, obviously, the lockdown caused by the global pandemic had slowed down the plans.
Phil Thompson’s debut track “My Worship” has garnered over 18 million views worldwide within 3 years of its release, making it one of the most popular Gospel songs of the moment. His follow up hit “Light the Way” released on his Youtube about 2 years ago has also gathered over a 2 million views. “Atmosphere Shift,” which is relatively popular as well is about 150K views at the moment. It was released about 5 months ago.
Phil has written songs for prominent Gospel music ministers including JJ Hairston’s “Love Lifted Me” and he is the writer behind Ashmont Hill‘s many hits.
His other releases include “Your Love Found Me,” “Ransomed Me” and “Home Away from Home.”
He has also collaborated with Nigerian Gospel singers Eben and Steve Crown.
