80-year old author and senior pastor of Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas, John Hagee was diagnosed with COVID-19 last Friday.

CBN News reports that his son, Pastor Matt Hagee, made the announcement about his father’s diagnosis Sunday during a live service.

Hagee explained that doctors had identified the virus in time enough and his father was “feeling much better that he could be frustrated with everybody in a white coat and a stethoscope.”

Hagee added, “He wanted me to tell you that he covets your prayers and that he asks you to pray for him daily, not only that he make a speedy recovery but that he looks forward to seeing you again at Cornerstone very soon.”

He went on to ask the congregation to pray for someone else who had contracted the virus, as his father John Hagee test positive for COVID-19.

“Because it is a fact of our lives, we also have a promise that we serve a God who is healing.”

According to the Christian Post, John and Matt successfully filed a lawsuit against Cornerstone Christian Schools, along with the local government’s ban on private classes in July, in which Hagee wanted to reopen in August.

“Plaintiffs hold a sincere religious belief and seek to educate, and have their children educated, through the in-person instruction of Plaintiffs’ religious, educational institution to further those sincere beliefs,” the lawsuit said.

John has been a prolific proponent of the End Times theology, as in his book, Four Blood Moons: Something is about to Change. Earlier this year, the pastor of the Megachurch issued a new message calling the corona virus epidemic a “dress exercise for the new world order.”

According to the details of the message, John Hagee asked, “Who would have thought we would be banned from going to church freely, a freedom outlined by the first amendment, as our individual rights were systematically stripped away during an enforced quarantined?”

“Our economy sunk to the worst since the Great Depression, as we watched power-hungry dictators trample our freedoms in an extended crisis intended to crush the hope of the people. Make no mistake … the Great Tribulation is coming, and it will be worse,” he asserted.
