The Gospel music powerhouse has been around for quite a number of years. She released her debut album “Grateful” in 2015, under her sister’s (PatUwaje King) record label GPK Records.
After the album, she went on a hiatus to focus on fine-tuning her craft and raising her family. She resurfaced in 2019 and did some work with Gospel music minister and producer Florocka. Doris introduced her sophomore album “Only You Are God,” at her return.
Trained at the Muson School of Music, Lagos, Nigeria, she has served in the choir of several churches within Lagos, Nigeria. She is anointed, versatile, full of grace, and endowed with an unparalleled vocal prowess.
Minister Doris has a vision of reaching out to the lost and being a blessing to her generation through her music ministry. She has shared the same stage with local and international gospel musicians amongst whom are Don Moen, Ron Kenoly, Midnight Crew, Sinach, Nathaniel Bassey, Chioma Jesus and many more.
She continues to serve in the Choir of her Church, RCCG, Tabernacle of David, Lagos, where she has faithfully devoted her gifting as worship leader for about 10 years.
This year, Doris Dumah is spreading her tentacles more. She is currently touring the United Kingdom and has ministered in places including House on the Rock, London, Chapel of Grace, Bradford, RCCG, House of Praise, Birmingham and more.
Doris Dumah has established herself as one of the leading female voices of Contemporary Gospel Music and she has several awards and nominations to back the claim. These include Music and Entertainment Gospel Awards, and MEGA Awards for the “Best New Artist” in 2013. Also in 2013, she was nominated for the Crystal Awards in the “Best New Artist” category. Her song, “Arugbo Ojo” was nominated twice for the Nigeria Gospel Music Awards and the Crystal Awards in the “Best Collaboration” category. She was nominated in 7 whopping categories in the MEG AWARDS 2013.
Doris won the “Female Gospel Artiste of the Year Award” by AfroWood Awards in 2017. Also, the Symbol of Hope Foundation presented her with the ‘Inspirational Award in recognition of her outstanding lifestyle and performance in her chosen career. In 2020, the Gospel Artist Star Corner Award, in Spain, also nominated her for the “Award of Excellence”.
Minister Doris Dumah who clipped the second part of her name from her husband’s surname “Aigbadumah,” is happily married and blessed with 3 children.
