– Pastor Daniel Olukoya Bags Honorary Doctor of Science Degree
The general overseer of Mountain of Fire Miracles Ministries, Pastor Daniel Olukoya was conferred with a honorary degree (Genetics and Biotechnology) on Thursday, June 22, 2023 by the Lagos State University, Ojo.
This news came just few months after the Man of God bagged professorship in biotechnology at Mountain Top University.
Pastor Daniel Olukoya was presented with the title during the ongoing annual convocation ceremony at the institution.
A statement by LASU during the convocation press conference revealed that: “We shall be conferring Honorary Doctorate Degrees and an Appreciation Award on eight eminent Nigerians who have made valuable contributions to the development of our University and the nation at large.”
The Mountain Top University, Ogun State has since reacted to the news, stating that the Honorary Doctorate Degree to be conferred on its Founder and General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr Daniel Olukoya, by the Lagos State University, Ojo, is a well-deserved honor.
It read, “The Governing Council, Senate, Management, staff, and students of Mountain Top University congratulate our Founder & Chancellor, Dr Daniel Kolawole Olukoya (Professor of Biotechnology), on the occasion of your special recognition and conferment of the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science (Genetics and Biotechnology) by the Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos State, today, Thursday, June 22, 2023.
“Sir, this well-deserved honour speaks volumes of your commitment, support, and contribution to the advancement of Higher Education in Nigeria and the World at large.”
Pastor Olukoya kicked off his university education with a first-class honours in Microbiology from the prestigious University of Lagos in 1980. He then went on to obtain his doctoral degree (PhD) at a record time in Molecular Genetics, from University of Reading in the United Kingdom, in 1984.
