“Even when we were dead and doomed in our many sins, he united us into the very life of Christ and saved us by his wonderful grace! He raised us up with Christ the exalted One, and we ascended with him into the glorious perfection and authority of the heavenly realm, for we are now co-seated as one with Christ!” – Ephesians 2:5-6

The name of Jesus is what God gave to the believer. The victory of Jesus is also the victory of the believer. The transfer of this authority was the work Jesus finished through His death and ressurection.

Many people are focused on the death of Jesus on the cross but the real victory was not that He died on the cross but that He resurrected and swallowed up the operations of death in victory.

Therefore, the cross is not just some fancy thing around the neck of the believer, neither is it just some protection apparatus for the believer to whirl when he is in danger be it spiritual or physical. It is a symbol of God’s love and the unlimitless extent He went for humanity but much more it reminds the believer of the victory He won when He resurrected.

When Jesus died, the believer died with Him. When He rose up, the believer rose up with Him. But here is the ultimate victory, when Jesus ascended and God sat Him at right hand, we also sat with Him at the right hand of God.

The book of Ephesians 2:5-6 makes us to realize the authority of the believer. It is not something we are going to have, it is something we have right now — as long as we have accepted Jesus and have made Him King and Lord, accepting His life, the authority of Jesus has been handed over to us!

We can trample upon snakes and scorpions and can overcome all the powers of the enemy, nothing can by any means arm us! Glory to Jesus!
