Pastor Leke Adeboye, son of the RCCG genereal overseer, Enoch Adeboye has extended his arms of love, as he provides free meals, clothing and medical checkup for over 5,000 people at Ikeja mall.

During an Interview with THE PUNCH, the lead pastor of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, The Bridge (Living Seed), emphasized the need to extend an arm of love to everyone.

The event which is themed ‘Jesus in the Park,’ saw over 5,000 people gathered at the venue to listen to the sermon by the clergyman.

The event was an eventful one as it featured dance and seasoned ministers such as Bidemi Olaoba, Beejay Sax, who led the people to an intense praise and worship.

Attendees who were present at the event, received medical checkups that included dental and eye examinations.

While speaking on the idea behind ‘Jesus in the Park,’ he narrated that “The first thing is that it was God who gave us the idea; we didn’t even think of it on our own. The Bible says that no wisdom is given to man except the wisdom from above. The goal is to move the church community outside its four walls and preach the gospel to the world. The best places to reach people on a Sunday are supermarkets, malls, and shopping centres.

“Every single time, Jesus would share His message, heal the people, and feed them. So, we decided to share a message with the people, pray with them, and provide free medical checkups for everything from eyes and mouths to eyeglasses.

“We will also feed them at the end. As of 10 am, we had about 3,000 people registered, and we are making provisions for at least 5,000 people. We are trying to reach the same level Jesus did, and that is one of the reasons we are out here today. When we get to heaven, God will ask us questions.”

While admonishing Nigerian youths to keep their faith and hopes high he said;

“People are graduating in this same economy, and people are earning significant amounts now and then. They don’t have two heads; they only have one head connected to heaven.

“I encourage people to learn new skills. There are many opportunities available online, such as online marketing. We can’t solely rely on traditional income sources anymore. Use the advantages provided by information and technology for your benefit.”
