-Oklahoma Schools To Teach Bible – Superintendent Ryan Walters Mandates

The Superintendent of Oklahoma in United States, Ryan Walters has ordered schools to teach the Bible.

According to Oklahoma’s State Superintendent, he stated that the Bible, including the Ten commandments must be taught in all schools.

This act came after Louisiana became the first state to mandate that public schools display the Ten Commandments in every classroom, which was quickly challenged in court.

Mr Walters has previously argued that secularists in the US have created a state religion out of atheism, by driving faith away from the public square.

Describing the Bible has an “indispensable historical and cultural touchstone,” said it must be taught in certain unspecified grade levels.

In his announcement on Thursday, Mr. Walters called the Bible “a necessary historical document to teach our kids about the history of this country, to have a complete understanding of Western civilization, to have an understanding of the basis of our legal system.”

“Every teacher, every classroom in the state will have a Bible in the classroom, and will be teaching from the Bible in the classroom,” he said.

However, many other States have taught the Bible in various classes and has been seen as an historical text.
