– Oba Abdul-Rasheed Abayomi Testifies As Kingmakers Died

Oba Abdul-Rasheed Abayomi, the enthroned Olokine of Ojowo, recounted and testifies to a relentless struggle on his path to traditional rulership.

He revealed that six kingmakers who opposed his nomination as rightful heir, citing his dual role as a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) died one after another, asserting that divine intervention vindicated his ascension.

The monarch, who serves both as a spiritual leader and traditional ruler, recounted how resistance mounted once it became known that he was affiliated with the RCCG, a major Christian denomination.

“They rejected me for being a pastor,” he testified, describing the opposition he encountered among traditional kingmakers.

This opposition persisted despite recognition of his qualifications for the stool. The tension stemmed not from a lack of lineage or eligibility but specifically from his clerical status, which some viewed as incompatible with traditional kingship.

Oba Abayomi Banjo framed the eventual demise of the six dissenting kingmakers, each passing away in succession, as evidence of divine favor.

“God fought on my behalf during the struggle for my enthronement,” he said.
