– Gbile Akanni Says Church Must Repent Before Nigeria Will Heal

Pastor Gbile Akanni says that the Church must repent and return to its spiritual roots for Nigeria’s restoration to occur.

Speaking during a recent gathering, Pastor Akanni emphasized that the spiritual condition of the church directly affects the destiny of the nation. According to him, while many Nigerians blame leaders in government for the country’s challenges, the deeper issue lies in the failure of the body of Christ to live out its calling.

“The nation is sick because the church is sick. Nigeria will not heal until the church repents,” he said, urging ministers and believers alike to return to holiness, truth, and genuine discipleship.

He warned against the dangers of materialism, compromise, and shallow Christianity, noting that the lack of spiritual depth has weakened the church’s ability to influence society positively.

“We cannot expect national transformation when the church itself needs transformation,” he added.

The message struck a chord with many attendees, who responded with prayers for personal renewal and corporate repentance. His statement has also sparked conversations online, with Christians across Nigeria reflecting on the church’s role in shaping the moral and spiritual fabric of the nation.
