– Holy Spirit Carry Me – Kenny K’ore Says Christians Shouldn’t Fight It
Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter Kenny K’ore has advised Christians not to attack or condemn the viral “Holy Spirit Carry Me” trend currently circulating on social media, saying believers should instead see it as an opportunity to point people to God.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, the singer noted that social media engagement has created a complex environment where spiritual expressions can easily be misunderstood or trivialised.
“Social media engagement is a multidimensional phenomenon with pros and cons that go beyond simple metrics. It functions as a complex ecosystem of psychological, behavioural and socio-religious interactions.

When a sacred act is shared online for engagement, it can become commodified. The multi-actor nature of social media platforms often leads to a collapse of context, and sometimes the sacred is undermined,” he said.
The gospel singer added that social media trends often reflect the realities people are going through, noting that many Nigerians are currently facing economic and social pressures.
He stressed that the church should respond with wisdom and compassion rather than condemnation.
