Award winning Afro Fusion Gospel rapper, Gaise took on to his Twitter timeline to share a story that teaches the essence of keeping your environment clean as a Christian.
Gaise used himself as an example of the testimony of a true follower of Christ.
Gaise has been nominated in the NMVA Awards twice and he is Crystal Awards Best New Artiste of the year, 2013. His song, “Awa O Tush” is the one of the rave-of-the-moment Gospel tracks.
Read what Gaise has to say on keeping Lagos clean below:
- “Wadup peeps… Lemme gist you guys som’n interesting that happened some minutes back
“So I finished a sachet of ‘pure water’ while walking on my street and aimed a road side dustbin to dispose of the nylon *in B-Ball style*…
“I missed my target and into the gutter the nylon went. I felt bad but I just kept walking…
“Then I remembered a line off a new song I’ll be dropping really soon (#LittleDrops) that speaks directly of that, and then I turned back…
“As I got to the exact spot where the nylon fell, ready to correct my error, a young girl-neighbour walks up and says hi…
“Obviously wandering what I was up to, I quickly explained that in error I had thrown the water nylon in the gutter & I was going to pick it…
“So right there & then, with a young babe looking on, I kneel by the gutter, stretch my hands in, pick the nylon, and drop it in the dustbin.
“She then claps & says.. ‘Good lagosian,’ I replied with “No… Christian!”
“The moral of my cool story: if we will let our faith shine through in even the most mundane of things, our environment will be better for it.”
Scriptural backing…
(This is not how Gaise ended it but I felt compelled to bring out the whole scripture).
Matthew 5:16 ‘Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.’
