The 100,000 Voices aka Generation Voices Telethon held at Koga studios, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos and was broadcasted live on Channels TV, EbonyLife TV and Beat FM on the 18th, January, 2014 between 10am and 1pm. The platform also reached out to atleast 25 million people across the continent and the Diaspora through the internet.
30 chapters of GenVoices also joined the broadcast live across the six geo-political zones as well as 10 syndicated platforms in country chapters of GenVoices including United Kingdom, Cyrpus, Texas, New York, Washington DC, Canada, Spain, Ghana amongst others.
Amongst the public figures who came to lend their voices to GenVoices included Former Vice President of the World Bank, Oby Ezekwesili, EbonyLife TV founder Mo Abudu, one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in the World, Omotola Jolade Ekeinde, Omawummi, Timi Dakolo, Mai Atafo, Eku Edewor, Omoni Oboli, Kemi Lala Akindoju amongst others.
The project seeks to create a platform for harnessing the offline & online energy of young Nigerians for practical efforts towards nation building.
