Seiba (real name Sarah Ogechukwu Okoye) is an Abuja ‘born and raised’, hip-hop artist, with a unique voice texture and delivery style; set to take the music industry by storm.
A teacher and a public speaker by profession, her passion for speaking and her musical abilities drove her into the art of expressing her thoughts and ideals through music; rap music in particular.
Her career began in her first year of college, Benson Idahosa University in 2008, where she auditioned for membership into ‘Rap Community’, a popular group in school, founded by Munachi Abii. This set the platform on which she did her first ever stage performance; at her department’s “freshers night”. From then on, her love for the stage and the mic was fired up!
In 2011, she appeared on a mixtape with ‘Barry’ tagged “360 Degrees” – Primary Colors, produced in Lagos.
With her exposure to the Lagos music industry came an understanding that every musician had a motivation for doing music! Prior to that, she had believed that passion was the only motivation.
At this point, she had made a decision to sing for God, preach the word through rap, and play her own part in changing the minds of Nigerian youths through music; the universal language.
She moved back to Abuja in 2012 and has since done some work with the likes of Dj Ernesty (street gospel mixtape) the album, Donsam (C.E.O Soulbrother entertainment abuja), Steve Willis (Boogiedown Records Abuja), Jay R (Sam Amaga Entertainment), Mad Mo Concepts, VC Perez, and was also one of the finalists of THE GOSPEL VOICE ABUJA and many more…
Here is Her new sound titled “Trust You” which basically speaks about her perception towards life and beliefs.
