It was with shock that the world received the news of Gospel singer Kefee’s demise. The news shook the Gospel music industry most especially due to the role that she has played in building up of other artistes and the industry as well.
Kefee, it should be noted played a major role in urbanizing Nigerian Gospel music alongside Kenny Saint Best, The Apostles and more. Her single “Branama” which later became the title for her album sold nine thousand audio cassettes in just three weeks of the albums release and over two million copies of CDs/VCDs in a month. The album was released under Alec Music.
“Branama 2,″ Her sophomore album was just as terrific as her first and in 2009, Kefee released “A Piece of Me” under Branama Afrique.
Kefee was on the verge of releasing series of singles with the first as “Dem Go Talk” with production from TeekayWitty when the world got the news of her collapse on a plane flying to Chicago. Official press statement released by her management said she died of lung failure. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
