Exactly one week after a mosque and a restaurant in Jos were rocked by two explosions that left scores dead and many others injured, a security guard on Sunday averted what would have been a high casualty rate from a bomb planted at a church.
A witness and member of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Angwan Yanshi, Tudun wada near the Federal Secretariat, Jos, Plateau State, has said that the private security of the church discovered one bomb hidden in a corner at the church entrance. It was thrown off the fence and it exploded according to him while the other was discovered by the anti-bomb squad on arrival and defused.
The police have also confirmed that no one was killed from the explosion.
