In its opening weekend “God’s Not Dead 2” earned an estimated $8 million taking the fourth spot at the box office, according to boxofficemojo.com, although it went against releases such as “Batman Vs Superman” and “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2”.

As at the 6th of April, the movie has raked in a total of $9,323,858

It took the sequel 2 weeks to match and surpass the $9.2 million opening weekend of its predecessor “God’s Not Dead” released back in 2014, notwithstanding, it still made it to the top five despite going toe-to-toe with major Hollywood heavy hitters.

“Miracles From Heaven”, a movie in the same category as “God’s Not Dead (1 & 2”), took the fifth spot putting two faith-based films high on the box office charts last weekend. As at April 6th, “Miracles from Heaven” has brought in nearly $48 million and has moved to #3 after four weeks in theaters.
